The annual Chili Festival is occurring today regardless of the pouring rain and 50 degree temperatures. You can find this event in the park in front of the police station in Havelock. Go out and get a great bowl or two of some of the best chili North of the Boarder!

In New Bern today the Bridge Run is taking place in the streets of downtown. The 5k or 10 k run/ walk will be wet but worth getting wet for so go and put your poncho on and join in the fun.

Try and go to these great events even in the rain, because they benefit a variety of charities.

As always, Friday nights are for high school football here in North Carolina.

Rivals since the beginning of time, New Bern High School and Havelock High School went head to head in

a battle of bronze and skill on the Ram’s home field.

At the end of this battle, Havelock High School emerges victorious winning 12 to 8.
